Jean-Guy Beyney currently manages it with his son, in addition to Ch\u00e2teau Clos de Sarpe.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">When he took charge of Ch\u00e2teau Clos de Sarpe in 1986, he continued the philosophy of his father and grandfather by producing wines that were as natural as possible.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">From the 1990s, he restructured the vineyard by replanting the Merlot while preserving the old vines.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">His work was very quickly recognised by the greatest wine critics and Ch\u00e2teau Clos de Sarpe was exported all over the world.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">In 2005, he was a pioneer in the use of density bath sorting, a technique now widely used by classified growths.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">He continued his efforts for ever more precision in the wine of Clos de Sarpe<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">In 2017, conversion to organic viticulture was initiated by Jean-Guy Beyney and Maylis Marcenat, crowned with success in 2020 with Agriculture Biologique (organic farming) certification.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A philosophy of natural viticulture and precision winemaking The Beyneys are an old Saint-\u00c9milion family, based at the Cit\u00e9\u2019H\u00f4tel Palais-Cardinal at the entrance to the village.
